Stilettos and feathers and metallics, oh my! Toronto's glitterati descended on the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts last week for the annual Canadian Opera Company shindig Operanation. This year's theme Into The Stars looked to ancient Rome and Rufus Wainright's upcoming production of Hadrian for inspiration, culminating in a wonderland of Madison Van Rijn's beautifully painted windows, through which guests could be seen grooving to electro pop siblings Brave Shores and filling their cups at a stunning Negroni fountain.

Further uptown at Yorkville's Four Seasons Hotel, a fashionable luncheon presented by Birks saw guests like The Handmaids Tale's Amanda Brugel coming together to raise money for HIV and AIDS research. Themed Courage and Compassion in Leadership, broadcaster Valerie Pringle engaged in a lively chat with Kirstine Stewart (Tribal Scale) and Jeffrey Remedios (Universal Music Canada) and guests were given the opportunity to bid on silent auction items that included a trip to London, an African Safari and Rimowa luggage.
