Five ways the Cambridge kids will be the best cousins to Prince Harry and Meghan’s royal baby

Prince Harry and Meghan’s royal baby has finally arrived (it's a boy!), and he's set to be welcomed into more than just British royalty. Beyond living at Windsor’s charming Frogmore Cottage and potentially receiving a title from the Queen, the royal baby has joined the roster of other adorable kids in the family – like cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Here’s how the Cambridge trio are set to be the best cousins to Baby Sussex.

They have so many hobbies!

If there’s one thing the royal children have, it’s a variety of interests – and likely a few things they can teach the future royal baby! Back in October 2018, Prince William opened up about George’s love of dancing, which he might have picked up from late grandmother Princess Diana: “George is doing dancing as well, he loves it. And it’s kind of… My mother always used to dance, she loved dancing.” George also calls skiing one of his favourite sports, Kate revealed while on tour in Sweden and Norway. He learned to ski at the tender age of two while visiting the French Alps, she said, according to Harper’s Bazaar UK. He also adores helicopters and planes and playing with dinosaurs – proving this little prince has a big imagination to share with Baby Sussex.

George’s little sister, Charlotte, also has quite a few passions at just three years old. While visiting Evelina London Children’s Hospital in December 2018 with William, Kate said their daughter loves making crafts, and shares one of her older brother’s interests. “My daughter, Charlotte, loves dancing,” William revealed at a Commonwealth event last year. While baby Prince Louis isn’t even one yet, it’s clear he’s quickly following in his siblings’ footsteps. The Duchess of Cambridge revealed her youngest is already racing around with the help of a walker: “Louis just wants to pull himself up all the time. He has got these little walkers and is bombing around in them.”

Prince George and Princess Charlotte love learning

The two young royals are budding academics – and they’ll surely pass their thirst for knowledge on to Baby Sussex, with the help of Prince Harry and Meghan. Both kids have reportedly picked up some Spanish from their doting nanny, Maria Turrion Borrallo, who comes from Palencia, Spain. “She’s very sweet and very confident – she’s always chatting away,” a source told People. George and Charlotte also adore going to school – they attend Thomas’s Battersea and Willcocks Nursery School, respectively. Both posed sweetly before their first days with their parents, showing confidence in moving into new chapters in their lives. The prince even takes ballet class as part of his curriculum!

They make great older siblings to Prince Louis

There’s no denying how lucky little Louis is to have doting siblings like George and Charlotte. From day one, they appeared at the Lindo Wing with dad William, looking proud as ever to be meeting their newest sibling (remember Charlotte’s adorable waves?). They even took the afternoon away from school to see Louis for the first time! Their love for their little brother can also be seen in the adorable portraits taken just 12 days after the baby was born – in one photo, Charlotte planted a sweet kiss on Louis’s head.

They have a strong bond with their grandparents, Prince Charles and Camilla

The bond Charlotte and George have with Prince Charles and Camilla is undeniable! In a BBC documentary released in the fall of 2018, Charles revealed he planted trees when George was born, which he dedicated to the boy as “George’s wood.” In portraits released of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Charles and Camilla, and the Cambridge kids, it’s plain to see how close the three are – in one shot, Louis grabs at grandpa’s nose while George sits happily on his lap and Charlotte receives a tender hug from her grandma. Too sweet!

They have great senses of humour

Princes William and Harry have some of the best senses of humour in the Royal Family, and it’s no surprise their down-to-earth silliness was passed on to George and Charlotte. Many will recall an adorable photo of Princess Charlotte sticking out her tongue out at Harry and Duchess Meghan’s wedding, or the famous goofy moment George shared with Savannah Phillips on the Buckingham Palace balcony during Trooping the Colour in 2018. Whether they’re chasing each other around at a polo match or sweetly keeping each other in line at weddings (as Charlotte cutely did last summer!), they’re sure to teach Baby Sussex a thing or two about how to have a laugh.
