Drake and a 'Hotline Bling' video booth to welcome guests at Raptors 'Drake Night'

Fans at Wednesday’s (Nov. 25) Toronto Raptors game at the Air Canada Centre are in for a treat as Drake is set to host his third annual “Drake Night.” In addition to the limited-edition OVO T-shirt and sweatbands that come with each ticket purchase, fans are encouraged to hop into the “Hotling Bling” video booth set up outside the arena. Mirroring the colour-changing cube in which the rapper famously dances in the video for his chart-topping single, the special booth has already been a hit with some famous faces, including the Raptors’ mascot and Drake super-fan Councillor Norm Kelly.

As acting global ambassador for Canada’s only professional basketball team, the rapper is a constant presence courtside throughout the season and actively reps his hometown team on social media. At last year’s event, the hip-hop star wore many hats throughout the game, including pre-game announcer and play-by-play broadcaster. Before tip-off he reinforced his love for the team, telling reporters, “I feed off the energy with the team. These guys are my friends and this city is my city, so I’m not really looking to monetize or capitalize my involvement. I’m just here strictly for support and to be more unified.”

Wednesday’s “Drake Night” will be a nice preview of what fans can expect in February, when the Raptors play host to the 2016 NBA All-Star Game. The 29-year-old superstar has already committed his time and talent to helping the players pull off a spectacular show. The event will coincide with the team’s 20th anniversary and marks the first time the all-star game has hit the court outside of the U.S.
